10 - 12 days after the SECOND shot is your 100% guaranteed "Stay Out of Hospital" card...

some of the doctors and nurses around here are "upping" the protection from the first shot from 45% to 75%.....basically saying that if you get infected after 10 or 12 days after the first shot you will have a mild case. My booster is set for February 26.

Yup, there is much speculation out there, based on the success so far, but you need to take all that with about 5 lbs of salt. Clinical Trial protocols are statistically designed to prove a certain point without question. Any data ancillary to that protocol is circumstantial evidence.

Now that being said, I saw on the news this AM that it is believed that the Moderna vaccine is 80% effective 2 weeks after the first dose. I liked seeing that, in that's what's floating around in my blood stream, but I'll still be on highest alert until 10 days after the second dose.

Same here. And even 6 weeks from now I will still be masking when out, staying away from friends and family and especially others. I know we need to do that, but eventually postponing/ cancelling our Med. cruise in September after cancelling las October's vacay is when I start to wonder if indeed it was all worth it. Then I will remember those of us who have not had a fun run with the china virus. Fluke Whisperer- hope all are improving !

My wife was told that she will not be able to get vaccinated for at least 4 months after her antibody infusion.
I as of now I can not take any of the vaccines because I am in that 2% category where if there is a severe reaction
to a drug, I will react to it, back when I was 18, I was given sulfa for an infection in my bloodstream, a few hours later I was in the ER in anaphylactic shock, I never want to go thru that again.
8 yrs ago, I had a #250 enzyme test done, it was relatively new at the time, they take 6 vials of blood and they test how your liver and body react to every known group of drugs on the market.
When I got the results, my Dr called me in, he gave me the spreadsheet, explained how it worked and we were both amazed as to how much was deadly, how much would cause bad reactions, how much could be controlled under close watch, finally what I could take that would not I would not react to.
I was taking a lot of psych drugs for PTSD, I was flipping out, my psych was like , it will pass, you need to build up a tolerance to it, wrong, the drugs I was on were on the list as bad or deadly is mixed together, for years my psych had me on so many drugs that I didn't know who or what I was, this is the one thing I hate about psychiatry, they don't know why these drugs work, if they work, but if talk therapy doesn't work, it's xanax and an SSRI or some other shit they put you on,
I know a lot of Vietnam vets who are going thru the same crap, I have volunteered to help at my local VA in New Haven Ct., I have been through some really bad Sh!t and tried suicide back in 1983, right now with this pandemic, people are experiencing their own anxieties, it's worse for guys like me and anyone who suffers from any mental illness.
Sorry for the rant, I got off subject.
