Fished a commercial trip on Tuesday out of Montauk , between the WNW gales for 2 days prior and 20-25 with gusts once the ebb started we went from a lights out bite of 4-5 lb fish using 12 oz to a slow pick of just keepers using 14 16 to ZERO with 20 . When the tide was booming the water got dirty , off color brown , as soon as it cleared a bit the bite was back on , shorts and a few decent fish but never re established the lock n load. IMHO the water clarity had as much to do with it as the booming tide. When the bite was on they ate greens and whites equally , slow bite was whites with the top shell off , no claws. Mad science.
