Deer Butchers

While I only hunt LI, I really can't butcher a harvest in my Massapequa driveway,lol. Besides the following, (and I only use Cary Stevens in Centereach who is terrific) anyone want to add to the list or delete if they are no longer viable?

I know of at least one on that list that will not be giving you back the same meat that you dropped off.
To some it doesn't matter, to others it may.
When in doubt, ask.

Won't point fingers.
Just remember when general hunting season opens upstate. What ever they harvest comes back and a few on the island will handle all they can get. Their overwhelmed and hire butchers for that week or two. The cuts are packaged and labeled.
Your deer would have weighed when you first brought it in. You will get back so many pounds of each cut depending on that weight minus any shot damaged meat. Which would have been added into that equation.
Nothing new been that way for many years. Best bet is to ask before hand.

I think one of my shooting websites bought up the same thing. will see if they pointed fingers, lol. Most of my deer on a nuisance permit are taken before upstate gun season so Cary has only had one or two deer at a time when I have dropped mine off except once that I recall.
