Monday morning weather called for light winds & a dense fog advisory till 9AM, thought I’d take a look. Hitched the boat up to the pickup & took off to the Mattituck DEC launch ramp about 6:30. Water looked flat & a haze over the water, looked like a go. Launched & pointed the bow east towards mid sound, the further off the beach I got the thicker the fog got, had the radar set for 1 & 1/2 miles not a boat in sight. Got to my numbers in about 80’ & it was game on with solid sea bass action. Threw back quite a few last years & this years keepers, keeping three knuckleheads, two fish over 18”. The fog lifted by 10 & never saw more than a couple commercial boats on the radar.
