I've seen these pop up on a few of my social media feeds. Not a bad idea, especially having the lock go around your rod. I purchased a cable lock to run through my rods and attach to my port-a-rod, rod holder in the bed of my truck. The rod and reel like just adds that little bit of extra security.

Many years ago I was eating breakfast after fishing a tide, and watched a pickup truck pull up and 2 guys in the bed grabbed all the rods from a rack of another truck in front of the restaurant. Just a few seconds and 4 rods were lifted..................................

It may not be 100% foolproof, but if it buy a couple seconds and catches someone's eye maybe they will think twice. Also my Port-A-Rod holder is not screwed into my side wall (so I can remove it when needed). But if someone really wanted to try and take the whole system it will be a bit since its ratcheted tight. I think the time it takes to thread all the rods with that you'd be better off just putting them inside somewhere.
