Got out early today about 6:30AM Wednesday 7/3 , at the end of incoming tide . Tried fluke fishing by the 2nd Wantagh Bridge, nothing, Tried at the 3rd Wantagh bridge , nothing. Fluke fishing is much better during the outgoing tide with the warm water . Incoming tide brings in 60 degree water. Just like last week, I went over to the Loop Bridge and one fluke after another for hours , probably caught 50 shorts. All shorts up to 16-17 inch's . I arrived at the Loop Bridge just as the tide started to go out . The bottom there is paved with fluke . I fished the South Side of the Bridge , just me and 1 other boat. High low rig with a white teaser about a foot above the sinker, squid and smelt. Caught a few on the teaser, most were caught with the squid and smelt. There were some boats drifting on the North Side of the Bridge. The party boats were moving all over. Flat as a lake , just a slight breeze , good to get out before the July 4th crowd.
