Some folks are on another level. My buddy Joe felt so positive about his years with FDNY, that when he retired, instead of soliciting thanks, he felt he needed to "give back" and has been volunteering at a summer camp for child burn victims. Having worked on "the pile" he was so grateful that other countries helped us in our time of need, that he wanted to "give back" and went to Poland to work at Work Central Kitchen.
