That's a nice storage system
I already burnt through my first pile and now have space open/available to start splitting, stacking. and drying out next years wood.

Hopefully the weather cooperates Sunday and I'll be heading west to Moriches to take home what me and the general cut up last Sunday

I still split 5 cords by hand over the course of the winter. There are some ornery pieces that give me such a hard time I recognize them the next year as they go in the fire. I generally only pick straight grain pieces. I just love the smell of red oak.
