So both apps said less than a 2.5 out of 5 for fishing. Got to JB F6 at 7:00 and didn't catch right away - then it started!
Lesson Learned - Don't pay attention to the Fishing Apps!
a few bites - and nothing, then a couple of small Bluefish, then WHAM! Just starts pulling line...no swirl, it stayed down. Just pulled and pulled, I ran do w the beach to get some line back on my reel. and after a 1/2 hour or more, I beached my first cow ray. it was 3 - 3 1/2 feet across. Ouch my arms hurt like hell. So I rested for 5 minutes, casted again and nothing, cast again, BAM! just starts pulling again. Yes another 1/2 hour and another big cow ray.....When you pick up some garbage the fish guides will reward you!
Some questions and observations:
So I'm running down the beach, because you can't really control those rays, and I'm heading toward these 2 guys fishing bait. You would think maybe they would reel in so we don't tangle.
WHAT WOULD YOU DO IF YOU WERE THEM? would you reel up or just let the line tangles
another observation:
I'm trying to re-rig after getting broken off and I turn around and there is a guy standing directly between me and the water fish - I mean WTF! Talk about mugging a spot. So I walked right back down to the water and casted in the spot I just left. Am I a dick or was he?
