Fluke fishing in Raritan Bay

Has anyone tried fluke in Raritan Bay yet? I will try this weekend just wondering if there is anything being caught in the bay yet. Thinking spearing and squid instead of the usual gulp and bucktail.
Water in Reach still cold. Try by bug light or up Shrewsbury River if u can. Pilings by Oceanic Bridge producing. Spearing on naked jighead, teaser above optional. BTW - This is not spot burning, this is NJ...

Thanks MoJoe. I trolled for bass for an hour around 6 last night. Picked up 3. 2 slots 1 over. We took the slots home and didn't take the over into the boat. White umbrella, white tandem mojo on the back hook, chartreuse swim shad. Biggest was on the umbrella. Trolled in the back of the bay. Water was pretty dirty. Saw some of the biggest fish marks I have ever seen but didn't hook up. A few boats out there doing the same. Some jigging. Saw 1 fish come in on another boat as we pulled in our lines. I think they were trolling also. I didn't have any buckets on the boat. First trip. So I bled them overboard on. A dock line then threw them on ice.

1 short fluke Sunday. The water in the bay was pretty dirty. Tried bug light area, the islands on west bank, bay side of
coney, there were a lot of boats there and that is where we picked the 16 inch fluke, inside of sandy hook. I never found a bite. Stripers were good had 14 in under 2 hours trolling in the pea soup. Chartreuse tandem was hit 2-1 over all others but everything I threw out caught. Even caught one on the way back in trolled for 10 minutes near the dock same chartreuse tandem.
Saturday was good too. Had our first bass before all the lines were in. 8 bass in an hour then we drifted outside Keyport for fluke. Lots of brown seaweed. No bites.

I went out Sunday May 15th 3 hours only two shorts in the back of the bay using gulp on a bucktail

I have been remiss in not posting my results. Fluke this past weekend was a bust. Thankfully fantastic striped bass fishing saved the days. No fluke Saturday or Sunday. Tried multiple locations though admittedly not on the best tides. Monday I had my first four fluke of the season inside Sandy Hook. Only one went over 17. Killies and bucktail with gulp did the job. I have next week off and I plan on fishing weather permitting. I did great on the bass Monday if anyone isn't tired of looking at bass pictures I will post some. Largest was a fat 41 at 30lbs on the boga.
