Fluke Fluke Fluke

If you want to get in on a great fluke bite now is the time. Perfect weather, perfect conditions. The fish are there hungry and biting. Full boat limit on the Star yesterday for all. Lots of big quality fish. I know this sounds like a plug for the boat but it isn't. Just putting it out there for people who think the season is mostly over or perhaps are contemplating going. Fish were biting from beginning to end. Even with no wind we had a steady drift with 6oz holding bottom for me. Some guys were scoping out most of the time. I had a lot of dropped fish, some felt real good. No sea bass biting off gulp tails, very few porgies bothering our baits. Had a few gulps come up clearly bit off by a blue fish. Probably caught 20-30 fluke with 6 keeper sized fish ORL.

Location, location, location. I fished a full day out of Montauk yesterday. No drift all day. I bet there were under 20 keepers for the boat. I spoke with someone that had been on a half day am boat and reported no keepers for the boat.

Capt. Spider is someplace out there, we followed him more than the Starlite. Oh those rips off the point were loaded with Fluke. Nappi said the best fluking was about 150 feet past the rip.

we stayed in 1 area all day but like I posted, we had a solid drift all day. I guess your drift conditions were less than ideal. The bite did seem to be a bit slower on Friday and Saturday from the reports I was reading. Hopefully they stick around for a while and allow us all another shot at them. This week's forecast for NE winds will keep me from going anytime soon.
