Foggy fluke!

No late report this time!! Well, they said the fog was supposed to lift around 10am so i planned on a later than usual trip. Got to the inlet and the vis was at least a mile so i pushed forward! Got to my spot, started banging away at the fluke. After aboit an hour and a half I was socked back in with 1/4 mile vis! By that time i had what i came for so i headed home! Outgoing tide, custom chicken rigs tied by my son with 5in gulp grubs! Catch ‘em up!

Question for Whalehead and everyone else: do you use dropper loops on your chicken rigs? Last year I lost the fluke of a lifetime when the dropper loop failed where it touches the eye of the hook. I surmise that violent head shakes against the eye of the hook frayed the loop. This would be for Nantucket Shoals where 24 oz sinkers are used. I went ahead and purchased a few of the attached rigs that have use mucho hardware. I prefer to keep it simple so any suggestions are appreciated.. thx

i've watched fisherman place the loop of the dropper through the eye of the hook then twist the loop before putting it over the hook. I fathom this might provide a cushion between the loop and the hook eye to prevent the line from chafing where the eye of the hook meets the shank?

I do exactly what Loozter said in his reply. Put thru the eye and twist it over the shaft. So far thats worked for me.
