I have been very optimistic with regard to fluke this 2020 season. Tackle shops preached with covid19 less pressure from commercial boats would give fluke a chance to populate our bays and shoreline. I fished Moriches yesterday (thursday) both in the ocean as well as the bay, total fluke caught 0, yup thats a zero, not even 1 short. I'm sure they've got to be somewhere but I can't find them. Loads of bunker in the ocean, could not find any bass but there are plenty of small bluefish on them. Great day, felt like I had the whole ocean to myself. Looking forward to the opening of seabass. Tight lines

That sucks. I've heard a good day here or their in the Sound followed by a string of shitty days. I hope it turns around. I cant even look at a porgy without a shiver going through my body.

Are the blowfish chewing up your curly tails out in moriches?

If your looking for fluke check the holds on the draggers from the Carolinas, they are allowed to catch 1000ibs a day. NY draggers I think can catch a 100. What's up with that?

Fluke fishing seems to be much better on the North shore (surprising to me). A lot of shorts but a few keepers thrown in to make it interesting. I really just love being on the water, catching fish is a plus!
