those look to be Blue Willow dishes which are/were very collectible of course making them expensive - cover the counter with soft stuff (like pillows) to absorb the impact - then open the door very slowly - maybe getting your hand in there trying to catch/hold some of them before they death spiral onto the counter/floor

Look close. That is a sliding door. Simple, slide it to the right a few inches. Reach in with your left hand and grab the bottom dish. Slide it open the rest of the way and you are good to go.

I have a similar sign on the front of my house. I also have that gas can and still have to take off the nozzle to get the gas out
