Future fishaholics

I had the privilege of having not one but both of my grandsons out on the boat this morning. My 11 yr old has been fishing with me pretty regularly and he's gotten pretty darn proficient but today my 9yr old grandson joined us for his first ever fishing trip and I'm just busting with pride! We launched out of Pt Jefferson and spend a few hours drifting buoy 11 in some fairly thick soup. The boys thought it was the coolest thing they'd ever seen (go figure). Both were landing short fluke, robins and porgies at a pace where I must have looked like a one armed paper hanger. Tide turned outgoing around 10 and the majority of their catch consisted of all fluke. No keepers but enough fish in the 18" range to make it very interesting . The young guy was smiling almost as much as I was, great time with the boys and the cousin's couldn't stop high five'n each other. The little breeze we had up at disappeared around 1:30 and it got real hot. We went for a short cruise to cool off, both taking their turns at the wheel before heading in for the day. I think these future fishaholics are already making plans for the next trip, lol. Tight lines guys from a very happy grandpa.
