Congrats

Congratulations Capt. Benny. You can have fun with that ticket. Lots of folks have their boat taken to Florida in the fall and brought back up in the spring. How can you beat a Cost plus job. ?
Well done, Capt. Benny. I do agree with Old Mud as personally, one of my most enjoyable jobs on the water is running a friend's 55' charter/party boat on day trips. Far less physically challenging than working my own vessel.

Having said that I think it is also important to note that taking responsibility for someone else's vessel is a really serious matter. Anyone who has been on the water long enough to earn a Captain's license knows how many things can go wrong and very quickly. Also consider the fact that the weather conditions in the Atlantic between the Northeast and Florida in the fall and spring months can be pretty challenging. Then consider the possibility you may be asked to take care of the transport under some tight time restrictions, thereby increasing the stress and risk involved.

Although I never took on the coastal transport job with my license, my instructor when I first got my ticket had done many of these trips and he could relate a bunch of stories that would make your hair stand up. I am not suggesting you should not pursue these types of jobs if they interest you . Just making sure you go into this with your eyes wide open.

Congrats Benny.... I took their course too. Mine was way pre covid so Masters was a 3 day in person class.. Janine is the guru of USCG paperwork. Worth every penny to have her file for you.
