Had my son in the boat & decided to run to the race for the ebb tide, a quick look & saw why I stay away from the water on the weekends, but the only time my son is off. Joined the crowd & was really suprised by the almost 5 mph drift. The speed of the drift didn't leave much fishing time before drifting into the monster rip, at the end of the drift, it was hold on tight a few times. Between the number of boats running around, the fast drift & the rip it wasn't fun fishing. Ended our morning with two short bass & didn't see much else caught. I had thoughts of running to the Gut & waiting for the next tide, but by them my legs were shot, time to call it a day.
