Thanks MTB, Good Morning to you and all of our NYA colleagues!!

Ah, digging "Hen Clams", as Skimmer Clams, the Atlantic Surf Clam, Spisula solidissima, are called up here. You need a sandy beach to dig these, which is very, very rare in Maine. We do have a local sand beach where I've dug them, but I'm not a fan for them on the table, so I only dig when I need bait.

In my misspent youth on LI, we would go out to the bar at low tide when the water was waste deep and root around with our feet until we dug one up, and then dive down to grab it for the bait pile. When Nana wanted clams for sauce, it was off to Mt. Sinai or Setauket for the hard shells.

Everyone asleep or doing like me, screwing around doing things since getting up at 05:00 and now just sitting down with the puter?

Good Morning NYA!! Have a great Saturday!!
