Green Island access

Having a boat and kayaks and surfcasting from open beaches, I keep forgetting to post this, but for the last few weeks and through the month of November fishing access and the parking lot at Green Island (between 2nd and 3rd Wantagh) is closed, ostensibly due to construction/demolition of the Jones Beach toll plaza.

Damn it's through the month of November? I saw the sign saying "GREEN ISLAND CLOSED SEPT-NOV" I wasn't optimistic just hopeful they'd open it come November. Oh well....

Hopefully not since the toll booths are gone, but now they have to repave...

I just drove by today and it's still closed doesn't look like it'll open soon.

Ouch, even with your current medical issues you beat my saying that when I last went surfcasting (and with nothing but rats I do mean last, at least this year) it was reopened just before Thanksgiving. Sorry gentlemen, but with no keepers in 4 or 5 trips I forgot to post this update.
