Dry Tortuga’s 3 day fishing extravaganza!!!

The Freeport Tuna Club out of Freeport, Long Island teamed up with the Venice Fishing Club and chartered the 75’ American Hunter out of Marco Island.

The fishing was fantastic!! Additionally, new friends were made, plenty of laughs, food, and spirits filled the 3 days!!

I had a nice Cobia which put me in 1st place for the pool only to be bested minutes later by my brother Mark with a larger Cobia!!!

There was no lack of fish with many species caught.

Nice going, Matt. Those Cobia are both tremendous fighters and really great on the dinner plate. Plus, that looks like a very serious sized Permit.
Hard to beat the incredible variety caught on those trips.

Thanks Captain, it was a very successful trip, and we had beautiful weather. And agreed, those Cobia’s fight like the dickens.

I’ve had Cobia in restaurants, but this is the first one I’ve ever caught one. Will probably be having it tonight for dinner. Cooked up some Yellowtail last night, that’s delicious.
