Made a right turn out of Venice Inlet yesterday, and headed to some reefs up in the Sarasota area in search of Kingfish. Found plenty of life with pods of Blue runner’s which we live lined and slow trolled. Had a couple nice ones on, but they managed their escape. Lot’s of Spanish Mackerel, and one 250-300 Bull Shark which beat me up pretty good. The highlight of the day was an enormous Cobia my brother had on. It made several spectacular jumps before earning its freedom. Nothing for the table, but kept some fish for use as baits on future trips, including this stinking Barracuda.
