Here's another trick to get a bit more life out of a 6" Grub that has had the tail bitten off. Take the grub body to the cutting board and cut it length-wise, so to make a pair of 4" "flat grubs." I use those on the rear stinger hook of my bucktails, along with a 5" or so piece of fish belly or tough squid. Works like a charm, and stops the angst involved in throwing away that grub body. Now you get three baits out of one.
George, our humble host showed me this trick whilst fishing with my aboard the Lep - and trust me, it really works well!
