Hampton Bays Diner, 🍔

First stop before going fishing with my father when I was a kid. We would get the usual, eggs, bacon, home fries, and after all that my father would get his signature piece - A slice of banana cream pie. That diner really was a landmark, it was right there. Sorry to hear that news - 🇺🇸❤️🇺🇸❤️🇺🇸

I went fishing with a friend near there. I was very early in the morning and we were hungry. The problem was we stunck to high hell of bait. We felt ackwanrd, but stripped on the parking lot to cleaner clothes. When we got in we realized naked fishermen in the parking lot was the least weird thing going on at 4 am in their parking lot.

Yes sir.

As a kid, my Dad would always stop there on the way out to Montauk. It was part of the trip that made fishing Montauk special. From the looks inside at 6 AM, everyone else felt the same way. All were eating the same thing, eggs, bacon, toast, homefries and coffee. Pots of coffee were always cruising around topping off your mug. As for me, my Dad always got me a bottomless mug of hot chocolate. I miss those days with him and the simple times. Sad to hear it's closing for good. Many have good memories of that watering hole.

Giorgio, that's a great photo. My Dad had a '57 Chevy and we could practically fit the boat in it.
