Healthcare Thread - Non political. Just venting and getting some feedback

For guys Like George and Fishingguy , good hardworking folks the ACA is broken ............

don't think either of them are in that plan....and if it's broken why don't they fix it.....Because it's a money machine...that's why...no one wants to touch the healthcare problem and if they do,,,,they get pissed on.....but seeing the premiums they pay is shocking!!! I consider myself fortunate....VERY!!

I'm gonna respect Georges wishes and not comment on the ACA and the politics of it....it's no comfort to him

I appreciate that MTB. I don’t believe anyone has an answer, nor do they care. Every year they charge more and provide less. And they don’t want to pay for anything. There’s a new med out for headaches that we paid $1400 out of pocket for one treatment. Sadly it didn’t help.

The ACA forced us self employed into the situation George and many others are in today .....
Congress should be forced to use the same health care system they impose on US Citizens

I know George said non-political, but when it comes to health insurance politics is what spawned it so the subject can't be avoided. Basically the ACA is another grand income distribution scheme where the middle class has to pay for the coverage of the economically depressed classes. Whether you agree with tat redistribution scheme or not, that's what it is.

The Medicare IRMAA payments to help fund ACA are ridiculous too! I pay a Part D IRMAA, even though I do not have Medicare Part D, my drugs are covered in my supplemental plan!!?? When I asked for an explanation from the Supplemental Plan folks, they said, "If you want a long, official explanation call up the Social Security Administration, but the "Reader's Digest Version" is you're just plan screwed, all part of ACA changes."

Bottom line before I had to enroll in Medicare my monthly health insurance costs for my wife and I were $600. That went down to $450 to cover my supplemental and wife's health insurance (not 65 yet), BUT my monthly Medicare charge including IRMAAs for Part B and Part D are $570, so I'm paying $420 a month more!!!
