National Grid in RI is really bad


The power goes out on Aquidneck island in RI if someone sneezes, unfortunately HOA doesn't allow generators.
National Grid is pretty lame.

Why in the name of Poseidon would a HOA ban wired-in, standby generators? I could almost see portable ones, but installed standbys doesn't make any sense.

They're townhomes, aesthetics I suppose. If you want to have a retractable awning installed over your deck, it has to be the same color and pattern as the one anyone already installed on your building.

They're is also a gas supply issue for the island, the pipeline for the whole island is only 6 inches wide. There are depots around where gas is barged in and distributed from there.

I installed the extra lines today, will secure them Sunday, since I plan on using the boat tomorrow. Triple tied-down the kayaks on the float and moved all ancillary crap off of the float and dock. I also got the trailer ready should I decide to haul. I look at all these activities as "Storm Repellent"; if I hadn't done them in advance, all hell would break out and Iwouldn't be able to get them done.

If that westward track continues, which sucks for you guys, I'm a happy camper. No need to haul the boat or have major gyrations around the house, my dock is protected from anything blowing in from the east...
