AccuWeather forecasters are projecting Ida to make landfall on Aug. 29, exactly 16 years to the day since Hurricane Katrina, a Category 3 storm, made landfall twice along the Gulf Coast, resulting in widespread devastation.

I just checked the NHC site and there is a large area in the Greater New Orleans vicinity that could see CAT 4 winds, a storm surge of 10-15' and 15-20" of rain
I hope the folks in the path are heeding the warnings and getting the F**K out.
