A non-tropical low pressure system with storm-force winds is located
about 200 miles south of Cape Hatteras, North Carolina. This system
is forecast to move east-northeastward over the next few days and
could gradually acquire some subtropical characteristics as it moves
across the subtropical Atlantic ocean along the warm Gulf Stream
current. For more information on this system, including storm and
coastal flood warnings, see products issued by your local National
Weather Service office and High Seas Forecasts issued by the
National Weather Service.

* Formation chance through 5 days...low...20 percent.

Next update when this becomes a depression or storm or this moves northward in our direction
 
Unless something forms near Florida or Long Island before Nov 30 this is it. On nov 30th I will come back in and update this hurricane season . I will continue to look at the tropics every six hours through the winter. Hopefully this is it.
 
From my town ocean beach yesterday with 10kt northerly and 4 foot swells hitting the outer bar, there was not a private boat to be seen.

over 500 miles east-northeast of Bermuda. While a large area of
shower activity associated with a frontal boundary persists to the
northeast of the low's center, the system has not yet acquired
sufficient characteristics to be classified as a subtropical
cyclone. However, some additional development is still possible
during the next day or two while upper-level winds become a little
more favorable, and a subtropical storm could form during this time.
Thereafter, the system is forecast to move over colder water and be
absorbed by a larger non-tropical low. Additional information on
this system, including hurricane force wind warnings, can be found
in High Seas forecasts issued by the National Weather Service.

Today is the last day of the hurricane season. Despite today being the end of the season I continue to look at the tropics all year round. There was actually a hurricane in Jan a few years back. The difference with last season is there were named storms until dec 2 this season basically shut down on nov 10th. One word to sum up this season IDA. Sept 1st changed everything. We are still recovering from the damage and devastation of that night. Had a foot of raw sewage in the basement. I was getting work done in the living room then we had the flood and that had to be put off. They are coming tomorrow. They were coming in sept to remove the carpet after 3 months and 100 plus bags of garbage later they are coming tomorrow. The basement is finished the garage is finished by next week the living room will be finished. Next job in the winter months is to clean up the upstairs room that will take a year or more to complete. Walking around the neighborhood people are still throwing out from that destructive night 3 months later. Going to update at 1pm and 7pm tonight the last two updates from this life changing hurricane season for my area. Season usually ran from june 1st till nov 30. Now it starts in May. Have been named storms 6 years in a row in May. I dont think in our lifetime we will have an all year hurricane season but eventually it might happen. Last season hurricane season went from April 29th to Dec 2nd. Hopefully this offseason is quiet. Can only hope.
 
1pm update tropics are quiet. Next and last update is 7pm during the off-season I will come in if there are any disturbances or news. I get updates from the hurricane center all year.
 
This is the last regularly scheduled Tropical Weather Outlook of the 2021 Atlantic Hurricane Season. Routine issuance of the Tropical Weather Outlook will resume on May 15, 2022. During the off-season, Special Tropical Weather Outlooks will be issued as conditions warrant. Notice May 15 is the start it used to be June 1st. I will continue to monitor the tropics and come back in if conditions warrant hopefully no updates. Take care
