Got out Sat AND Sun am..a rare treat for a travel ball parent for sure. Calm conditions with the light east breeze, even in the middle at 11B that had boats anchored and drifting. We bobbed on the anchor both days in 40-50 feet of water at the top of tide through half the outgoing. Armed with clams and squid from Cow Harbor, as well as a couple of bunker that were snagged by the ramp. Weeded through plenty of micro sea bass, as well as some nice sized porgies, and eventually keeper BSB as the tide picked up steam and the stern pointed east. Highlight was a slob 22 inch Sea Bass that of course hit the lightest rod we were using. Great fight! Once the tide started to rip we headed south to the East Bar to finish up the day which also held oversized scup. We ended up boating Black Sea Bass, Porgies, Sea Robins, Hackelheads, Blackfish, Blowfish, Dogfish, and a surprise flounder (not fluke). Did not see any of the usual fall blitzing bass/blues/diving birds. Looking forward to TOG!
