Got out with T Mac, and the kids. Wanted to send Sammy off to college with one more memory. Tried some fluking between crab meadow and the stack, and then infront of Eatons….shorts, robins and scup kept us entertained until the sun started to get low, so we anchored up and dunked some Cow Harbor Chunks.
Ally got the start with a fiesta 33 incher that she thought was a blue with drag pulling head shakes and coming up to the top and sounding multiple times.
Sammy picked up the next fish that took line and then stopped. She waited and waited for the second run that never came, so I told her to feel up and check the bait…about 10 cranks in, thr line got heavy and she was tight to another keeper at 31 inches. She had a blast with the fish and even asked to have the honor of bleeding it out. Luke finished off our night with a 37 inch over tht went back…his words were “best fight I ever had!”
Limped back to the dock when one motor didn’t want to turn over. Hopefully got it straightened out, but we shall see on the next trip.

How did I miss that part, it's always something with those HPDI's.

Our trip to Block 3 weeks ago was great but we came in early because the engine wouldn't idle, it kept missing and stalling but ran great at high speed, I ended up changing all the gas filters, high, low and the 10 micron external, installed new low pressure pumps and torque to specks which I never did before, changed the VST filter and a new set of plugs.
When I drained the gas from the cup inside the engine it had a little bit of water in it, I checked the the gas from the VST tank and the 10 micron filter all was good, I checked my logs and I hadn't changed my plugs in 2 years so they looked fouled, anyways we took it out for a test run and the engine ran better than when I first got it, the best I could get rpm wise was 5100 rpms, now I'm getting 5300, and idles as smooth as can be no more sputtering at 1200 rpms like it use to, just took it for granted that was typical of the engine.
Hope you figure it out.

Yes Jay, it is always a work in progress.
She started fine at the house and the ramp. Ran her for a few minutes, and shut it off as we drifted.
Started again, and ran another 10 minutes, off and drifted.
Ran her again for 10 minutes to the bass spot and shut her off...no issues.
She wouldn't turn over after sitting for a little over an hour.
Wouldn't start back at home that night or the next day. I thought it was the HP fuel pump...changed the LP this winter. Key on and you can hear the HP pump running. Still wouldn't turn over but I could smell gas. Checked the plugs and one was pretty dirty, another oily. Had a few older clean ones around so i swapped them out and she fired off, but running rough. Once I got her to idle, I put it in gear, but didn't hear much of a difference, so I started pulling spark plug boots, and found out the shift position switch was bad because the idle didn't change on the two offending plugs. I just so happened to have another switch from my motor swap last year, so switched it out and she starts right up and idles like normal. I am hoping that it was just the plugs getting fouled because the switch and causing the hard start condition. We shall see.

I had that problem 3 yrs ago on our first trip to Block on this boat. I bought 2 new ones, once swapped out it never gave me a problem again, I have a 5 gallon sealed bucket with everything I need, after encountering the problems I have had with mine over the years, I'm not taking anymore chances.
We will be out at Block this Sunday barring any problems.
Hopefully you have solved your problem.
