Got out friday after work with a couple of pals and their boys. Went for fluke around slack tide near the Eaton Neck CQ station.....some rockin robins and short fluke kept the boys busy,
With the outgoing picking up, we found some bunker on top so snagged a few and chunked up a pair of keepers for the boys in 60 ft of water. Left early to clean the fish and enjoy a late night fresh meal.
Monday, out with my daughter Sammy and John (Fish4Me). Got out early knowing it was going to blow as the morning progressed. Flat calm Sound made finding happy free swimming pods of bunker easy. Set up but tide was slack. Had a blue tear up a bait, and a sand shark make a tangled mess. Just as the tide started to flow, the fan turned on with NE 20 kts turning the Sound sloppy in short order. Once the waves started to come over the pitching bow, we made the call to scrap those plans.
Gave drifting bucktails a shot with marks on the bottom, but no takers for us. Finished up the morning drifting for fluke along Ashroken and managed two keepers for the table.
