Got out on Thanksgiving morning with my cousin Mark from VB who is partly responsible for this so called Fishin Addiction.
Forecast was off, with NW 15-25 again. Considered going across to CT to fish more comfortably, but hit my favorite in close spot considering the time window we had. The trolling motor had some issues keeping us on the spot with the tide rolling and hard wind gusts. I ended up putting one motor in gear to help keep us in the zone. We had a nice steady bite going for the two hours we were out, managing plenty of just short togs as well as two keepers.
So of course we made sure to go again on friday. Basically the same conditions although the wind was more 10-20, and I did not need to run a motor, even though we had 3 others on board. Again, we hit my spot and had instant life and good action until the tide really got cranking with the moon tide. We ended the day with numerous shorts, and 4 keepers, with a pair at the 18 inch mark.
I should've went again on saturday as the late morning/afternoon became glass like conditions. My neighbor Rich was out there and he came home with a two man limit, saying the bite was great until the tide was ripping.
I think this was my last weekend of the season as water temps were 51-52 degrees, and the it looks to get cold again this week. We shall see what next weekend looks like, but even if I get one more chance, I'd be very surprised to still find the fish hanging around....we shall see.
