Broke the inlet @ 7 am with Tmac, Billy, Rich and John (Fish4Me). Cruised across the calm LIS and set the spot lock at 15 feet at Sheffield Rocks. It did not take long for Rich and John to start the party on board. Slack tide and jigs put a pair of quality keepers in the box. Billy followed soon after, and Rich/John team put 2 more in the live well to get bled out. TMac and I were odd men out as we could barely get bites.
The flurry of action died out, so we made a little move to deeper water in the same area, and settled at 25 feet. The crew kept picking fish with keepers mixed in, and by 11am we had 13 in the cooler. By now the wind kicked up from the SW as well as the outgoing tide, so we made the run back across towards Eatons and fished a bit deeper to try and get our limit. 11B was a parking lot.
I found a nice piece at 35 feet and we got back to fishing. I finally got my act together and contributed a keeper, and Fish4Me ended the trip with his 6th keeper of the day. John took high hook and big fish of the day, all on the jig.
Another fantastic day of fishing, with great blackfishing weather...chilly, but nice in the sun. Water temps ranged from 56-58 degrees. Did not see any porgies this trip.
