Took advantage of Saturdays nice weather and shot across to the CT side again. We arrived in the middle of the incoming tide and the big fish were there and hungry at 20 feet. First ten minutes had a pair of 20 inchers in the box by my son and buddy Ed, and within the first hour we had 6 in the box with 2 more 19's. Then someone jinxed it said we are gonna limit out in no time. The fish gods heard that and the school bell rung and the parade of smaller fish followed. To add insult to injury, the spot lock trolling motor suddenly stopped responding, and we lost our primo spot. Broke out the ground tackle and we went a bit deeper, and built the bite back up. We managed 2 more keepers before calling it a day with the outgoing picking up steam. Fantastic weather, especially in the afternoon.

Sunday, my neighbor twisted my arm with the nice morning weather, and we went to finish off the crabs from the day before. We stayed on the LI side with the SE wind and waves. We had "stupid" fishing. Crabs went down, and fish came up for 2 hours straight, all were short except for 2 that made the cut. We easily caught 60 fish, just not alot of size to them, although plenty of 15's in the mix. The highlight of the trip was a surprise 16 inch Winter Flounder that hit a carb hard and put up a respectable fight. Took a couple of photos and sent it back. Water temps at 55-56 degrees. Hopefully I can get the trolling motor sorted out before the fat lady sings.
