Decided for a little change of scenery, the plan was to launch the boat in the western Peconic, across the bay to the Shinnecock Canal, & out the inlet. Had a destination in mind that has given up some large sea bass & trigger fish. First leg of the plan went pretty good, 1/2 way across the bay turned on the radar/chart plotter, to a screen I have never seen. Radar looked different, & the chart had me in Ft. Pierce Fla. the machine was in simulator mode. Clear morning & I have a second chart machine, a Garmin, shouldn't be a problem, I fool with the Simrad in Shinnecock bay, for about 1/2hr. Don't know how, but get the fool thing out of simulator, & go to punch in the desired waypoint, 135 waypoints are gone, all are backed up in the Garmin & in a book. Set a course on the Garmin to a waypoint about 11 miles off the beach, get within a mile & their is a boat set up on the numbers sharking. Got some more numbers about 2 miles away. Fish that spot for a couple hours, not a bite. Run back inshore to the inner Shinnecock reef, & it's wind against the end of a weak tide. Two small porgies and about a 12" fluke. By now it's only about 10:30 but decide nothing left to do but eat my linch & go home.

One of those "Murphy's Law" days, John!
We all have them occasionally. At least the only thing hurt was your pride.
