In the fog

New Angler
Thursday launched 1st time from the nice Mattituck DEC ramp at 7:00am. Extremely heavy fog limited visibility to 50ft or less. Crawled east hugging shoreline using compass and GPS chart plotter. Found schools of bunker with a few 4-6lb bluefish under them. Finally reached Rocky Point rip and found birds and fish breaking surface. Caught my 1st bass on a small bay anchovy epoxy fly. 27in bass carefully released at 1:00pm. No sign of albies. Chased small pods of stripers as sky started to clear and went back to ramp by 2:30pm.
