Took advantage of the break in crummy weather and ran to the 10 miles wrecks se of fire island inlet this morning. Target species was seabass but was also hoping for triggers and bonito. Spent some time at the Dodger, Reggie and Esso Barges. Same as last week, no keeper sebass, lots of very small ones mixed with tons of porgies. Was able to manage on very nice size bonito on the jig. Looks like the larger fish were pushed off deep by the passing hurricanes and trop storms we had last month. Not sure if I want to run 25+ miles for good bottom fishing though. Came back in towards ocean beach and ran in about 30ft to the inlet. Plenty of bunker but nothing on them yet. Lots of small snappers and some small weakfish migrating. Hopefully the bass start arriving soon.
