Is it me or is this an accident waiting to happen?

So last week I was anchored up with a few friends off of Sunken Meadow when I witnessed about a dozen or so people clamming as far as I’d say 150-200 yards off of the beach. It is very close to the entrance of the Nissequogue and a favorite spot for jet skiers. Anyhow , you be the judge.

Unfortunately anything boating related on LI is an accident waiting to happen, especially on the weekends . When I boated out of Jones my head was on a constant swivel. When I retired I was fortunate enough to be able to do the Monday to Friday thing for the most part. If it was weekends, it was out at 7:00 and tying up at the slip at noon.

Well my opinion is ,some folks know how prestigious and illusive the Darwin Award is. Go for it !!!!!

Any place thats " a favorite spot for jerk skiers. " isn't even safe if your in a boat. Nakid in any more than 6" of water and consider yourself A Target !. " A know a thing or two, because i've seen a thing or two"

I believe that those waters are uncertified. No taking of clams.

Don't worry. They have to have taken a boating safety class in order to operate a PWC, so there won't be any accidents.

I suspected that zone had to be an issue being so close to the Nissey. Good find Capt!
