Is Peconic Bay a White shark Nursery ?

Sounds crazy, but check out the You Tube video of the CBS morning show about the White Shark Nursey off Long Island and you might agree with me. . Very interesting video. Can somebody get the link for me ? I don't know how to link. Thanks.
Makes sense that they'd swim into a protected bay in an around Peconic Bay to spawn and protect their young from other hungry White sharks. I saw a video about another White shark Nursery in Southern Waters and the Female White Sharks swam into shallow water to spawn.

What date was that shown as I need that info to find it.

For the record, to my knowledge there are no reports of mother whites protecting their young. AAMOF I can't find any reports of that for any of the Mackerel Sharks, Great Whites, Makos, and Porbeagles. They just drop 'em and leave them, but there are many unknows.

Interesting. Do you have a link? I used to hear that Eatons neck and that area was a brown shark nursery.

Is this the episode? They are certainly close enough to Peconic bay, and there have been whales that have wandered into the Bay in the past.

That's the video. Thanks. I say Peconic Bay because why would the sharks give birth off Long Island when they can do it elsewhere along their migration up North ? Maybe not inside the bay itself, maybe inside of Gardiners Island, that area.

Ah, the fact that whites give birth off a LI is not a new discovery, at least for those of us who walked into Tadsen's Fishing Station in the 70s. Ben had mounted GWS 3'ish pup on the wall behind his counter.

Back then it was not unusual for folks chumming for bluefish to pick up Mako pups outside of Moriches so the first time I walked into Tadsen's with a friend he said, "You should look at that" as he pointed to the shark. "What's so exciting about a mako pup?" "No, take a good look." As I strolled up close and looked at the teeth I gasped, "Holy Crap, it's a WHITE!!!" "That's better, yeah a friend of mine caught that last year outside the inlet."

Pretty wild. Seen some sand tigers come up in the sound and a brown as well. Makes you think about what we can’t see.

Sand tiger and browns are "inshore" sharks typically found closer to land than the pelagic species. As was said, White sharks have been known to drop their pups offshore of LI, but pretty far offshore, not in Peconic bay. I ve caught several mako and white sharks pups when I was doing a lot of sharking out of Montauk. All were tagged and released. AFAIK none of the tags were ever returned.

Can somebody post the video? - Type in Great White Shark Nursery - Long Island Natural History Conference. Fantastic video. I still say they spawn near Gardiners Island or maybe in Peconic Bay. The females mate off Cape Cod and swim down to Long Island to get away from aggressive males up there. They must be swimming into the protected areas to spawn . Why down off Long Island ??? Thanks.

From this video, the attached shows everywhere that great white pups have been caught. with all the fishing that happens in Peconic Bay, I think we all would have heard of a great white being caught if they did spawn here....looks like the NE tip of Montauk (technically Gardiners Bay I guess) is as far as they have been caught....
