It’s been an unusual year so far. (for me)

The weather, especially on the weekends, has not been great. A lot of wind has kept me from fishing on my boat.

I have caught over 40 fluke. But zero keepers. A friend had similar experience on the south shore

I have not caught Mackerel in the Long Island Sound in many years. This year, maybe due to the sand eel hatch, they returned

I have caught King fish on the south shore, never in the Long Island Sound. King fish are now being caught.

I grew up fishing the western sound. It is many years ago but we used to catch kingfish and weakfish on a regular basis. This was in the Glen Cove area.
