this weekend is forecast to be a SCORCHER. I keep reminding my wife and stepdaughter that the purpose of A/C is NOT to refrigerate a room but to create a noticeable temperature differential from the ambient air. A/C also removes humidity, but it shouldn't be set to a level more than 10 degrees cooler than the external temperature. Keep your window shades drawn since 90% of the heat that enters your home in the summer is from sunlight through the windows. I set my thermostat at 78F when we leave in the morning and then dip it down to 72F for sleeping.
