Jones Inlet Fluking

Went out today, 7/20 Thursday , for fluke in Jones Inlet. I arrived there about the last 2 hours of incoming tide. Plenty of fluke both sides of inlet, caught 3 keepers and many shorts. Action all morning, fished from 8:30 AM to 1 PM using high /low squid and spearing. Gotta find another supply of spearing because they were small snapper size bait . Maybe If I had bigger spearing I would've caught more keepers. Much more relaxing fishing during the week . Flat as a lake .

My biggest fluke were caught with snappers, but it’s a bit early for that. Sounds like a great day

Those Peruvians are 5-8 inchs long. Never tried them. I think I'll use up my 5 inch Sardines before I look for those big spearing. I bought 4 bags of Sardines -16 oz. bag for $2.99 each . Used the Sardines but the fluke bit them in half. Gotta add a stinger hook next time . Thanks for the tip.
