Albert the Alligator's owner gives up the fight.

There's just something about claiming that an alligator is an emotional support animal that speaks to somebody needing other kinds of support.

But either way, I guess the DEC's unlimited funding (our taxes) finally broke this guy.

For all the reasons Roccus pointed out radio tags are not feasible. Fish tagging programs provide invaluable information for marine biologists, NOAA, and other scientists.

Plastic tags work great.

I have had caught several Bass over the years with tags. I couldn’t count how many sharks I have tagged but know it’s in the 4 figure numbers. And, have caught plenty of sharks with tags, removed them, and retagged. And I have had many of my tags recaptured some thousands of miles away. Many from the Azores. I have also been involved with Marine Biologist’s at NY Aquarium in a Mako tagging program where satellite tracking implants, and blood samples, and all associated measurements of the fish was the goal. Not an easy thing to do. Have also tagged BFT but have never had any tags returned nor captured one with a tag.
