Headed out to do a little fluke fishing wind blowing hard with tide so bucktailing was tough managed a few shorts so switched to dragging a sinker had a mixed bag this way a few last year sea bass some porgies, one small bluefish some more short fluke a decent 21 and change fluke and even a small mackerel, once the sun started dropping put the trolling rod was a little rocking and rolling made a few passes and finally the pole went screaming I looked at frank and said this is a big fish after gaining on the fish then the fish making some runs it got close to the boat only to head for the bottom finally got her cup and was about to net the fish when she spit the hook at the boat definitely a over the slot fish was gonna go back anyway would have made a nice picture but was easily released a few more passes till sundown no more hits headed for the dock, wasn’t a bad trip just wish wasn’t so windy
