Angler
Another night of fishing in the books! I should say catching...not fishing!
I took my two girls down to WE2 and snuck through the path between plovers much easier than walking down on the sand the whole way.
Was really windy..4-6 foot waves, I thought for sure there was no way we could catch anything. Started toward the jetty and I was throwing a 1oz deadly dick, and my 1 daughter was throwing 1 1oz green bucktail. No bites, no nibbles not a thing. Switched over to a carolina rig with a White gulp 4 inch mullet and 2oz of weight, then it started. My daughter kept getting bites, bit couldn't pull one in, then I got my bit and I didn't miss...a short fluke, then another and another and finally my oldest landed her first fish of the day. Now my youngest daughter wanted in on the action (She has been skunked for a while, but not today....The look on her face, when she had that first bite, and dragged another short fluke up the beach - NOW SHE WAS HOOKED! We Stayed for about 2 hours, probably catching a shot fluke every third cast. Don't get many days like this so it made it real fun for me to watch them catch and catch and catch.
Then on my youngest daughters last cast she's reeling and she get thumped, she tells me this on is way bigger. I'm hoping it dinner tonight....but no...just a 3lb blue. She reals it up and asks what is it...I tell her it's a snapper blue, and she looks at me and my other daughter and says, :"Suck it! I aught a Bluefish too"
I almost dropped and started dying of laughter.
Was a great day and some great memories with my daughters
