2 reels for sale both in excellent shape. A Shimano Calcutta 50b has the Shimano wood knob power handle as well as original double paddle handle. $110. 2nd reel is a Shimano Curado Dpv it is a 5:1 ratio added a larger double paddle handle and loaded with 20lb Suffix 832 $125. Thanks

Hello all, I have a rare Abu conversion Pete/Lep did for me two seasons ago. I've had it 2 years haven't even spooled it. This very custom reel is a tank.

As Lep wrote on the “old” site: This one is for Big Joe/Flukinit, who will use it on one of his medium action tog sticks, probably his UC or Phenix. Unlike the fluke jigger that I previously showed, this one was built for maximum strength. Lightness of weight was not a consideration.

So we used heavy duty chrome on brass everything - including the rare mirror-finished Abu "Rocket" side plates, the very strong full brass factory 5500C3CT frame, a chrome on brass inner brake plate as a foundation for the internals, with a back-up anti-reverse dog, just in case the primary anti-reverse bearing fails on a particularly cold day - or maybe if Joe hangs the tog of a lifetime and it somehow manages to bust the AR bearing. Unlikely, but who wants to build a reel for a friend and have it fail in its ultimate test? What reel tuner would want to take THAT phone call? Better safe than sorry.

It goes without saying that any Lep-built "Mini Togger" would carry a set of the ultra-rare 3.8:1 "Stump puller" gears from the old '90s-era original Abu Winch series. Talk about "hen's teeth," this particular gear set is pretty much impossible to find now days. Why oh why did Abu ever stop making the round Winch? One of the best small inshore reels ever - and is the base for many of the mini-toggers that I've built over the years. No complaints yet from ANY owner, and they have many DD toggies to their credit - and none of those earlier versions feature the full brass construction of this build - that I can recall, anyway!

Also inside, a full SmoothDrag carbon fiber and hand-ground drag washer set, an over-sized star drag wheel, upgraded Boca hybrid ceramic bearings, a Rocket Reel Products 4mm spool shaft in place of the lighter-duty factory 3mm version, and a few other bits and pieces brought in from Europe to further beef the internals. A full set of custom SS screws replace the factory soft brass versions. We finished it with a big, comfortable handle from the Daiwa Saltist line.

Even with all that fancy mirrored chrome on brass, this reel STILL comes in at 13.3oz - right about the weight of the new Maxel Hybrid star drag reel.

Based on the results I've had with my own Mini-Toggers, I would say that this one will perform beyond Joe's expectations. That he will own a "One-of-One" original, is well, just icing on the cake. Truly a gorgeous reel, especially when viewed on a bright sunny Fall "toggin'" day. . . Sunglasses required!

Curado is sold to Joe B who got 2 nice deals today I'm gonna keep the Calcutta 50b great little reel and there aren't too many in that condition around. Thank you Joe B, Pete and Ny Angler.
