Looked For Stripers Found Work

Yesterday morning headed for the race hoping for Stripers on the ebb tide. First few drifts were not productive & finally found some promising marks on the screen, what I found was big bluefish, hanging out in an area between 150 & 120' of water. First one I put on the scale at 16lbs, & had 4 others that all looked to be over 12lbs, & decided that big bluefish in 150' of water is too much work for me. Tried a few different drifts in other parts of the race in shallower water with no results. Headed to Plum Gut for the start of the flood tide & found much smaller bluefish on almost every drift. Time to head to the barn for a rest.

First off, those are beasts! And then to wrestle them up from 120-150 feet. Some workout!
