Today I went to magnolia pier and I caught my first fluke of the season on spearing. Was 18 inches and I put it back in the water. What I noticed is when I arrived in the pier the fishing was red hot. The tide was low and when the tide started coming in slowed down and when the tide started going out it picked up again. All fluke were shorts but I arrived at 8am and by 830 there were 10 fluke already. I tried sabitiki and diamond jigs when I arrived because the tackle shop wasn't open yet and I saw the guys open up i got spearing and 10 min or less i get my fluke. High tide was 11:15. While I was fishing 30 to 40 anglers fishing and I am guessing 30 shorts. Not sure what happened after I left. Not a bad day. Going forward will be going to magnolia pier and party boats. Freshwater fishing is over.
