Memorial Day

Well-Known Angler
In Flanders Field.

In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.

As we all head out to our beaches & backyard BBQ's - please take a moment to reflrect on what this hoilday is all about. It's NOT about the "white sales" at Macys or those great appliance sales -it's not a chance to get out on the water & wet a line - it's about them. Take moment & give honor to those who can't participate @ our BBQ because they gave their all!!

Those of you who proudly fly the flag, please remember to lower it to half staff (half mast for you squids) at sunrise and then precisely at noon raise it to the top !

Bravo!!

"I don't care if [the fine] goes to $500 a day. The flag is not coming down," Lemonis told the station. "From our perspective, if the flag pole isn't hurting anybody and isn't in danger to anybody, then the size of the flag is somewhat irrelevant."

Supporters were alerted to a petition shared in a Facebook post by Camping World. The post reads, "This is about more than just the flag. This is about our Veterans, Military, and the men and women that have sacrificed for this great country. They are the reason we fly the flag and they are the reason we will NOT take it down!"
