I sure wish I could join, but the commute is a bit much.
I'm on my way. You guys can start without me, I may hit some traffic. It is Friday and raining here![]()
So I get that pictures can be deceiving
You mention "limits of clams and oysters"
Is that wire basket of clams bigger than it looks?
Was the picture taken after the crew split up the catch?
Or is the per man limit minuscule?

so my quick research shows a peck = 1/4 bushel.
Correct?
So I double checked the limits for my jurisdiction- Town Of Southampton.
I have to admit I was a bit off in my understanding of the reg's but was always still in compliance.
With a recreational permit you are allowed one half bushel of "shellfish per day"
It goes on to say, of that half bushel no more than 100 can be hard clams.
My bad in missing that and thinking I could have a half bushel of hard clams.
99.99% of the time I've gone as a "rec", I've had my wife and son with me so the limit is then 1-1/2 bushels of "shellfish" and 300 hard clams for the 3 of us.
NEVER did we exceed 300 hard clams even if my 1/2 bushel sized basket is full.
in the boat drinking beer watching young lovelies water ski around us for a couple of hours. Better than cutting the lawn...
