More bass

longcast

Well-Known Angler
Took my brother out today for a little bass action. It was a bit cold and the wind report came in higher than comfortable in my mind. I saw a N component so let's go!

Jumped out into the ocean and was greeted with flat conditions - as long as I hugged the shoreline. Went one way and found fish immediately. One after the other but smaller than last week as they were under slot and thin. My thanks go out to a surfcaster who called and said "get over here" as something was erupting in front of him.

So we made sure everything was secured and made our our way at a speedy pace and found what he called about. Acres of bunker but one problem - nothing on them except for a pretty big whale whose blow hole smell graced our boat! Live well for a bunch of bunker and went a bit deeper. Found some better fish, mostly over slot and had a solid bite for a while.

We did have a shot at some bigger fish when the were on the surface and fed a bunker to a mid 30 fish on the surface. No picture, I dropped at the boat with leader in hand.

Total for the day, 40+ fish up to the lost one as far as weight.

Oh, and the Palmarius 0 saw a lot of use today in the deeper water.
